DieLochis, Cro, Caro Daur and many more are a part of the new YAA campaign Published on:

With a big stage show in the Mall of Berlin, Youth against AIDS (YAA) presented the new campaign for the World AIDS Day on November 16th. The event was opened by an exclusive concert of the most successful twins in the German music scene, DieLochis. Numerous prominent campaign ambassadors stand behind the values of the education initiative: “Do what you want. Do it with love, respect and condoms. ”

This year, eleven open-minded personalities, reaching almost 12 million followers daily through their strongest social media channels alone stand behind the new Youth against AIDS campaign. The heart of the campaign is the guiding principle of the education initiative: “Do what you want. Do it with love, respect and condoms. ”

“Our new campaign is reaching young people on an equal footing because it has been developed and supported by young people. We are proud of the ambassadors that give our initiative a face – not only prominent supporters on the posters, but also every young committed person who collects donations and stands up for our values: Do what you want, respect and condoms, ” says Daniel Nagel, CEO & Chairman of the Board of Youth against AIDS.

For the fifth year, Heiko and Roman Lochmann (DieLochis) support Youth against AIDS. In addition to the most famous twins in the German music scene also star bloggers Riccardo Simonetti, Shanti Joan Tan and Michael Buchinger present their campaign motifs in a personal and authentic way. The campaign will be shown in several European countries like Germany, Austria, France, United Kingdom, the Netherlands and United States from November 2018 to March 2019.

Heiko and Roman Lochmann (DieLochis) – Musicians, YouTubers, Actors:
“The most obvious thing for us is that we have grown up hand in hand with Youth against AIDS. Some years ago, the campaign was much smaller and JGA was not as big as it is today. And of course, we are very happy that we have gone this journey together and hopefully will continue for the next five years. ”

Cro – Musician:
“I support Youth against AIDS because it is an extremely important topic that must become a bigger component in young people’s mind. I think it’s a natural human reaction to push certain issues away from you. AIDS is one of them. You think that only happens somewhere else or just to other people. But you should be thankful that you are healthy and take care that it stays that way. I really respect that you do this work! ”

Riccardo Simonetti – Blogger, Moderator and Author:
“I think sexuality is so integrated in society and in the media that you often do not see the wood for the trees. As a result, while we are confronted with sex throughout the day, we do not talk about the responsibility that comes with it.You should be open and honest about it and not afraid of the topic. I support Youth against AIDS because I believe that young people who are encouraged to believe in themselves and their future and their dreams will automatically pay attention to their health.“

Shanti Joan Tan – Blogger:
“I support Youth against AIDS because I believe that many people can identify with me and it is important to me that more people develop awareness of the topic and handle it responsibly. Unfortunately, there are still many condemning voices out there, which makes it difficult for many people to feel comfortable with their sexuality. And the more you show people that everything is okay and good, as long as you feel good about yourself, the easier it will be for people to open up to others. I think that many, especially young people, have a lot of questions and are uncertain, but do not dare to trust someone. And that’s a pity. ”

Michael Buchinger – Blogger and author:
“Honestly? The education at my school was not exactly brilliant and everyone involved was extremely messy. I had many questions, but I did not dare to ask them because the questions were very gay-specific. I support Youth against AIDS as it creates a framework in which you can ask questions about this insanely important subject without hesitation.”

All campaign ambassadors:

Today, the initiative is happy to call personalities such as Federal Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel, Jens Spahn (Federal Minister of Health, Advisory Board member of JGA), Michel Sidibé (Director, UNAIDS) and Dr. Gottfried Hirnschall (Director of HIV / AIDS and Hepatitis Program, WHO) their supporters. Patron of the initiative is Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The work of the young committed people is only made possible by strong partners like Gilead, AXA, Facebook, Instagram, Levi’s, MSD and Billy Boy.
