We need a new generation of youth leadership in the global fight against HIV. That’s why Youth against AIDS (YAA) brings hundreds of youth activists from all around the world as ambassadors to the 22nd International AIDS Conference in Amsterdam. The Youth Headquarter hosted by Park Inn by Radisson is open to all interested young people up to the age of 28, invited guests and journalists. Admission is free. Individual press tours on request.

On July 20, the gates of the Youth Headquarters of Youth Against AIDS in Amsterdam will open. Thousands of young people from all over the world will immerse themselves in the unique YAA world. Exciting lectures, presentations and panels with international stars, politicians and luminaries of HIV-Science await all interested young people under 28 years who register for the Youth Headquarters.

During the conference, hundreds of young volunteers from all over the world will be trained in several areas by the award-winning educational initiative. Subsequently the young people will implement concrete projects together with Youth against AIDS in their home countries.

The program connects top-class speakers with young and committed people. YAA is proud to present various high level personalities like Michel Sidibé (UNAIDS Executive Director), Dr. Gottfried Hirnschall (Director HIV/AIDS Department of the World Health Organization (WHO) or Linda-Gail Bekker (President of the  International AIDS Society).

The International AIDS Conference is the largest meeting on HIV/AIDS in the world. AIDS 2018 will take place in Amsterdam from 23 to 27 July. The Youth Headquarters opens three days earlier and unites the largest partners of the educational initiative.

The unique project is possible because of the strong partners and numerous supporters of Youth against AIDS. As a main sponsor, Gilead Sciences is committed to the vision to build a new generation of youth leadership in the global HIV response. Other partners are for example Levi’s, Facebook, MSD, Park Inn by Radisson and Thomas Henry.

YAA uses a peer-to-peer approach allowing them to have dialogues at eye level. Furthermore, they do targeted publicity work to help cultivate an educated and diverse society.
